UbikWiki was a new breed of WikiEngine, featuring:
- Te''X-like formatting syntax
- Valid HTML 4.0 Transitional pages
- Pseudonyms (one page with multiple names)
- Extensible link syntax
- Transclusions
- Strong, non-standard namespaces
- Trails
The thing that Ubik was trying to showcase was not any of these (directly), but a more fundamental design change called Set facets. Set facets are an alternative to UseMod:SubPages and SectionedPages, and provide a nice foundation for most of the features listed above. They are also, limited experience suggests, incredibly prone to micro-management, and hence evil. Ubik is thus currently deprecated by its owner, ChrisPurcell; if you want to obtain the engine, feel free to get in touch with him.
The name is still just fab, though.
UbikWiki was a spike of the FacetWiki project. You won't find it there any more. Check out that page for more recent directions the project has taken.
