The arguments for DECREASING
New technology promotes or enables:
- Intentional spying
- Concentration of data in large centralized databases
- This is a security risk
- And allows the database owner to correlate different sources of information about an individual, allowing one to get a much more detailed picture of them than was previously feasible
- Connection of databases over the Internet or telephone lines (security risk)
- More skilled hackers and spies.
