The Dutch language WikiPedia (http://nl.wikipedia.org/ is part of the WikiPedia project, using the GNU FreeDocumentationLicense, a neutral point of view policy, and aiming to build a free encyclopedia.

It is one of the medium sized non-English WikiPedia sites, having a couple of thousand articles. It has been growing at a slow and steady pace since it was founded, sometime during 2001. On January 11, 2003, it was the world's 14th BiggestWiki. On August 4, 2003, a press release was issued saying that it had reached 10,000 articles.
